Prep Your Home for Winter: The Ultimate Maintenance Checklist

As winter approaches, it’s time to cozy up your home and make sure it’s ready to tackle the chill! Here’s a fun and easy checklist to help you prepare your space for the cold months ahead.

Check Your Heating System: Before the frost hits, schedule a furnace tune-up. A warm home is a happy home, and you’ll thank yourself when the temperatures drop!

Seal the Drafts: Grab some caulk and weather stripping to seal gaps around windows and doors. This will keep the warm air in and the cold air out—plus, it’ll save you some bucks on heating bills!

Inspect Your Roof and Gutters: Clear out those gutters! A buildup of leaves can lead to ice dams. While you’re at it, check for loose shingles that could cause leaks during winter storms.

Winterize Your Outdoor Space: Drain hoses and store them away, and consider covering outdoor furniture. If you have a garden, protect any tender plants with mulch or frost blankets.

Test Your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Safety first! Make sure your detectors are working properly, especially with the increased use of heaters.

With this checklist in hand, you’ll be ready to embrace the winter season worry-free! Stay warm, everyone! And, don't forget, I am always open to a cup of coffee and conversation about real estate!
